The Alaia Restaurant is located on the shore of the Basque Country, in the area of Getxo, only 15 Kilometres from Bilbao.

​

After  enjoying a wonderful day in Bilbao, you can get to our restaurant on foot.  The greatness of the palaces will accompany you during your short walk until you reach the marvellous Ereaga beach and the Old Port of Algorta, where the old fishermen's houses will welcome you.

Our history

The Alaia Restaurant team started to develop five years ago a new concept of Basque “cuisichic”, (traditional cuisine with a modern touch).

​

 

Our guests will have the opportunity to experience a deep feeling of joy from the good cuisine through the five senses, thanks to the carefull selection of the best and freshest raw materials, and their further processing through an accurate and detailed implementation of the newest technologies.

​

 

Our Restaurant has three areas of entertaiment, the lounge bar, the restaurant and the terrace.

​

 

The lounge bar is the best place to taste a small bite of the Basque Country flavour. Our bar counter offers a wide variety of daily cooked warm fingerfood upon customers' request.​

Furthermore, our restaurant is perfect for the celebration of weddings, meetings, and all sorts of special events, while you enjoy overwhelming views of the Cantabric sea.

But, if you prefer being outdoors, our terrace is a good choice. It opens from May to September.
